1954 Ford Trucks – Lowrider, Work, and Custom

If you are looking for a classic 1954 Ford truck for sale, then you need only to look as far as the eBay website. These classic trucks are in high demand no matter what state of repair or, in some cases, disrepair they are in. These American classics can be found in any of the 50 United States, including in Hawaii and even Alaska.  Many of them have been left to rust in fields and on the sides of old dirt roads, as well as in abandoned barns. Many still are in varying states of restoration, and some are even completely custom builds.

Take this 1954 Ford F100 Lowrider, for instance. When Ford first built these trucks they were designed for work around the farm, because, back in the 1950s, farming was still a major industry in the United States. That’s not to say that it isn’t a major industry today, but those were much less sophisticated times when it came to technology.

So it stands to reason that Ford did not design their work trucks to drag over dirt roads and muddy fields. This truck’s suspension has been lowered for no reason other than style. Still, it is a very nice truck.

Now, this second 1954 Ford truck stands much closer to it’s original duty than the previous truck. You can even see the cattle in the background on the farm that this pickup calls home. Although this truck has definitely had some more modern upgrades to it, the most obvious being the new rubber on the not so original rims. In addition, this truck has been given a new clutch, brakes, and master cylinder, as well as new lights and wiring, new spark plug wires, new distributor cap and a few other upgrades. This was an old family farm truck that has been well maintained and kept in the family for several generations.

The last ’54 Ford I chose to feature is a show truck in progress. I say in progress due to the fact that, although you can’t really tell from this photograph, it still has a long way to go before it will win any awards. It has definitely been given a great head start, though, with it’s beautiful two tone blue paint job and custom chrome mirrors and bumper. The eBay ad states that the paint is actually green and the fenders have been done in black, but I have to disagree and would go as far as calling the ad’s author colorblind. The engine is where this truck still needs a lot of work, but, all in all, this truck is well on it’s way to a happy retirement.
