I would guess the majority of us look at trucks for sale by owner before we go to any dealership when we are in the market for a used vehicle. The reason for this is a simple one. Money. Buying a truck from an individual seller can potentially save thousands over what would need to be paid at a dealership. The down side is that most reputable dealers guarantee their used vehicles up to a certain point whereas it can be more of a crap shoot when buying from an individual. But the potential savings outweigh the risks and no one wants to deal with a used car salesman anyway. We like big vehicles at this website so we’ve gathered a few current online listings of lifted used trucks for sale by owner. They come from the usual websites. You know which ones they are.
Our first lifted truck for sale by owner happens to be my favorite. My grandpa owned an old dodge truck from the 60s and my mom owned a Ramcharger from the 80s so I have a special place in my heart for old Dodge vehicles. The one in the picture is a 1979 Dodge Power Wagon that has been exceptionally well taken care of. It’s been in a heated garage for the last 20 years any only has 25,000 miles on it. That is an insanely low amount of miles. I haven’t even checked the price and I’m sold. Sadly the truck is all the way in Pennsylvania and I’m far too lazy to make a trip. If you feel like making the trip or you happen to live in Pennsylvania, the current bid for this truck is $2,325. There doesn’t appear to be any reserve. The tragedy here is that there is only one day left to bid and I doubt you will make that deadline.
Ok, I cheated a little on this one. This jacked up 2000 Ford F250 is actually being sold by an online dealership. I’ve included it for two reasons. The first is that it is bad ass. The second is that an online dealership is most likely a fat kid in his mom’s basement so it counts as being for sale by owner.
If you’ve noticed the smokestacks behind the cab you probably already know this is a diesel. A 7.3 Power Stroke diesel to be exact. It has 74,000 miles on it and I must admit to cheating once again because it already sold a couple of days ago for $17,000. Hey, I never promised you would actually be able to buy any of the trucks we are highlighting today.
The last of our used pickup trucks for sale by owner is actually owned by an individual seller this time. No cheating like before. It’s been listed three different times on ebay and all three times it received over 20 bids but did not crack the reserve price. The highest the bidding ever got to was on the first selling attempt when the bids reached $11,000. At the time the owner had a buy it now price for $12,000 so the bidder was oh so close. On the third listing attempt the bidding reached $10,900 but once again it didn’t meet the reserve which I’m guessing is $12,000. After three attempts and three maximum bids close to $11,000 I think the public has established a fair value. Take the thousand dollar hit and sell already!
