Hello my friends. Here is our nice little collection of 1961 Ford trucks. I found each of these Ford trucks for sale on various sites around the internet. By the time you read this, they will be gone. In fact, most of them are gone already. But they are great representations of what is available.

Ford trucks may be built tough but after 40 or 50 years even these vehicles start to break down. You will see that most of the vehicles listed here aren’t in perfect condition, but they still run. Some of them might even make great restoration projects. I swear that one of these days I will learn how to do more than change the oil but a full restoration will never be a pleasure I will experience. (Single tear.)

The first photo above is a 1961 Ford uni-body. I think this is the only one on our list that might not run. The owner listed it for $1000 so pull out your haggling skills and knock that sucker down to $500.

This 1961 Ford F-100 is also a uni-body and it officially still runs. Looks pretty damn good too. It’s motor is a 292 with about 59,000 miles on it and the owner sold it for $1600. This would be a great truck to start a restoration on. All of the essential parts are still intact, it just needs some tender loving care to really take it to the next level.

This 1961 Ford F-150 has been nicely restored. Naturally a heftier price comes with a classic restoration. The owner wanted at least $10,000, maybe much more but it never sold so I don’t have the exact number.

The above 1961 Ford F-250 is a great old work truck. It’s had three owners throughout it’s life and was recently sold by it’s long term 71 year old owner. $2000 is the estimated cost. The old Y-Block V8 engine still runs and has 118,000 miles on it. This would be a fun truck to drive around a farm. At least that’s my vision. That way when it finally does break down it will already be in field waiting to overgrown by grass. That’s how every old truck deserves to die.

Last up is a 1961 Ford One Ton flat bed. I don’t know much about this old fellow. I hope it found a good home where it will be taken care of by a retired mechanic that wants to relive his early years.

Ford trucks were work trucks back in 1963 just as much as they were work trucks as far back as the 1940s. As a matter of fact, Ford trucks have always been work trucks. They get bigger, more powerful, and even more luxurious every year. Yesteryear’s trucks are a far cry from the lap of luxury that we enjoy today, but their purpose has remained the same generation after generation. Ford trucks always have been and always will be work trucks, from the half ton F100 to the muscular one ton F350.

I found the first featured 1963 Ford truck for sale on eBay Motors and it hails from Wisconsin. Originally from South Dakota, under the hood is sports the original 292 cubic inch Y block engine coupled to a four speed transmission. This three quarter ton F250 is ninety-nine per cent rust free and is a great truck as is, or it could be a fairly easy restoration. It starts right up, runs, and drives like a truck should. It has been kept in a heated garage out of snow and rain, and the current owner only drives it on sunny, dry days. There are a few issues, but you will have that with any truck that is almost half a century old.

This second 1963 Ford F100 is out of Florida and also is for sale on eBay Motors. This is an unrestored step side with the original six cylinder engine and three speed transmission. It runs and drives as it should, although one of the wheel cylinders does seep a little and will need some attention. The tailgate has some rust on the bottom, but it is still original and attached to the truck. The interior is all stock and the floors and frame are both solid. Whoever purchases this truck will need to get the ignition and door locks both re-keyed.

This last 1963 Ford truck, again from eBay Motors, is from the great state of Texas. The original 292 cubic inch V8 is in great condition, as is the three speed transmission. The three on the tree linkage is a little worn, so inexperienced drives may get it locked into second gear. The wheel cylinders, master cylinder, and brake shoes have all been recently replaced. This truck also has the old, original AM tube radio which does work once the tubes warm up. This truck needs a little cosmetic work done, but it would definitely make a great daily driver.

The year 1962 was the year of the Unibody on Ford’s pick up trucks. It was out with the old step side beds with flared fenders, and in with the newer, more sleek and streamlined look. Ford ushered in a new era in pick up trucks with it’s new body design and paved the path that automobile manufacturers would follow for decades to come. It would be quite some time before any truck company brought back the old step side design. For now, it is all about less wind resistance!

I found this 1962 Ford truck on eBay Motors out of Kentucky. Although you can’t tell just from looking at it, this truck has some real power under the hood. The exterior is very clean and well taken care of, but under the hood is where the real value lies. This classic pick up is equipped with a 351 cubic inch Windsor engine that has been given a larger cam, a Weland high rise air intake, a Holley four barrel carburetor, new headers, new radiator, and a new fan. All the power from the 351 Windsor is translated to the rubber by a new automatic transmission with overdrive.

This second 1962 Ford truck for sale is courtesy of eBay Motors out of Arizona. This one doesn’t have quite as much power as the previous pick up, however, this truck is a great deal closer to being in original condition. As a matter of fact, the only non original equipment on this truck is the custom welded rear bumper. Everything else on this truck is OEM, or “Original Equipment Manufacturer,” right down to the new paint that was done in 2005. The 292 cubic inch V8 has only 500 miles on it since the rebuild. It also has a new radio and new heater, although I don’t think you would need the new heater in it’s native state of Arizona.

This last 1962 Ford F100, also courtesy of eBay Motors, is out of Sterling, Virginia. The last two trucks were very well taken care of, but this one has definitely seen some better days. Curiously enough, the current owner bought this truck in Arizona only three years ago. I wonder what kind of shape it was in prior to that transaction. There are so many things wrong with this old truck that it would be impossible to list them all here; but, I’m an optimist, and I think that if the right person got a hold of this truck, they could give her a new lease on life.

The sixties are a decade filled with revolutionary thinking, and few companies were able to latch on to the ideals of a new generation better than Ford Motor Company. Henry Ford’s already revolutionary ideas for automobile manufacturing had been going strong for decades, so there was no reason for that momentum to slow down after 1960. Ford trucks did not escape the changes that were sweeping over America. Instead, they embraced the working man’s ideals and once again came out at the front of the pack. You can still find these trucks around today. Some have withstood the test of time better than others, though.

After only a few short minutes of perusing the pages of Craigslist classifieds, I stumbled across this antique 1960 Ford truck for sale. It’s an F-250 that has been, and still is, used on a farm as a work truck. The workhorse 292 cubic inch V8 engine runs great and starts quick with the addition of a brand new battery only two months ago. This old truck needs quite a bit of cosmetic work to get it looking like new; but, in the hands of the right owner, this pickup could look like it just rolled off the assembly line in no time.

After I found that first 1960 Ford truck on Craigslist, I decided to take a look and see what eBay had to offer me. It didn’t take long at all to spot this beautifully restored 1960 Ford F100. The frame-off restoration was completed about eight years ago and the list of things done to restore this truck is pretty lengthy. This was a very in depth restoration done by someone who paid enough attention to detail to even use the original Skymist blue paint. Everything works on this truck and the interior upholstery has been redone to match the rest of the truck. This truck would turn heads anywhere you drove it.

This last pickup, also courtesy of the infamous Craigslist, is the epitome of a classic workhorse. That’s in my humble, eight foot bed loving opinion, of course. This old truck has just enough wear and tear on the body to show that it has been rode hard, but it also hasn’t been put away wet, if you’ll pardon the expression. This pickup has been as well taken care of as any old four hoofed workhorse. This would be a great truck for a cruise down to the drive-in with your better half.

The Early Bronco had its beginnings in 1965 when it was first sketched. The Ford engineer’s then code named it the U100 and designed it as competition for the Jeep as well as the International Scout. It was a nimble, light weight four wheel drive that we now have come to know and love thus explaining its 30 year run.

The 1966 Ford Bronco was first marketed to ranchers and farmers or those that needed a camping or hunting vehicle. Even back then automobile magazines were ragging the bronco for being better for off the road rather than on but that didn’t stop many families from using it as an all-purpose vehicle for the farm as well as for the family.

1966 Ford Bronco Ad

The earliest version wasn’t very comfortable with no power disc brakes, power steering or automatic transmission. The gear shifter was in a weird position on the steering column and there was not much to say about the interior of the vehicle. It came with a large rubber floor mat and if you wanted something else you would have to special order it. It came with only the driver’s seat being standard and all others were optional. The windshield wipers were mounted from the top in contrast to modern wipers being mounted from below and they weren’t electric but instead vacuum operated.

You had the choice of body that you wanted your truck to have. There was the half cab pickup, the wagon and the roadster convertible. The only difference among the three was the top and door configurations but everything else was pretty much the same and the prices for getting what you wanted weren’t high either.

The most popular of the body choices was the wagon and after a while it was the only choice for someone looking for an Early Ford Bronco. It came with a steel top that covered the entire cockpit and truck bed. There was a rear window that could be lifted to store things behind the back seat. This was great as it provided cover from the elements but it could be removed quite easily by removing some bolts and lifting it off with the help of another person.

This is the same type of truck that many car enthusiasts are trying to get their hands on today and they can be a nice addition to any collection. They have stood the test of time and have proven Ford to be one of the best makers of quality trucks.

Anyone who collects classic trucks should have a 1959 Ford F100 in their collection, whether it has already been restored or if it is still in it’s former glory. You can find these very old trucks just about anywhere, but I’ve found that the easiest place to find them is on websites like eBay and Craigslist. The only downsides of buying your truck through one of these websites is that, for one, you may have to travel to retrieve your purchase, and you never know just how honest the seller is being in their advertisement.

Penn State Daily Driver

The first 1959 Ford truck I found is compliments of eBay and currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The seller claims that he has used this truck as a daily driver for two years. The truck has the original 292 cubic inch Y block engine and still has good compression on all cylinders. The current owner has put quite a few new parts on this truck, including a five speed transmission, new holley carburetor, fuel pump, and u-joints, as well as a new water pump, clutch, and new brakes. There is some rust on the body, but that is to be expected of a truck this old.

Old Logging Ambulance

This second 1959 Ford truck for sale is also listed on eBay and hails from Eugene, Oregon. It was used by a logging company based out of Crow, Oregon, and that company used it as a logging site ambulance. It has a 223 cubic inch six cylinder engine coupled to the original manual “three on the tree” transmission. The wheels are new aluminum, and the original bench seat has been replaced with two bucket seats.

Old Farming Workhorse

This last truck, which is also courtesy of eBay, is a ’59 Ford F250 4×4. This truck has definitely seen far better days. The body is covered in patina, but that is not necessarily a bad thing, although the front bumper does look like it was made from rust. This truck is actually a two truck deal. The truck on the left is the running daily driver, while the truck on the right is also a ’59 F250 and is being used for parts. The seller is letting them both go for one price. This really is an amazing deal, as long as you know how to do the mechanical work yourself.

Restoring old cars and trucks is a very wide spread hobby these days. A lot of folks have even turned restoring classic autos into a veritable business endeavor and have had great success in doing so. Vehicles are a lot like good wine; the older they get, the sweeter and more expensive they become. Of course, with any old wine, there is going to be some dust on the bottle and the same goes for classic cars and trucks. However, David Lee Murphy said it best when he sang, “There might be a little dust on the bottle, but don’t let it fool ya about what’s inside.”

1958 Ford Panel Truck

I found this old 1958 Ford truck for sale on eBay. This is really a rare find. It is hard enough to find Ford trucks this old, but to find one that is a panel truck is just about like finding the proverbial “needle in a haystack.” That being said, this truck does need a complete restoration, although it does currently run. It comes with a 351 cubic inch motor coupled with an automatic transmission, and the list of new parts that have already been installed includes front springs, shocks, and radiator.

1958 Ford Farm Truck

This second truck is also a 1958 Ford F100, but not with the panel truck body. This is just an old farm truck that has definitely seen some better days. The 302 cubic inch V8 engine runs well and has plenty of oil pressure, but the four speed automatic transmission needs a complete rebuild; it was originally out of a 1989 Ford car and will not shift out of first gear. That being said, this truck does have a few good points. All of the glass is good, with no cracks or chips, the windows roll up and down and the wing vents open and close just like they should.

58 Ford Truck

Falling back on my “fine wine” analogy, there is definitely a lot of “dust” on this old 1958 Ford truck. Of course, this particular “dust” is actually rust, or what we like to call “patina,” which is just a surface oxidation that is usually easily repaired. Although this truck doesn’t run, is does include the factory installed in-line six cylinder engine and manual transmission with a “three on the tree” shifter. This is my favorite out of these three trucks, simply because of the original engine, transmission, and paint.

Ford did a major overhaul on it’s truck line up for the 1957 model year. Gone were the days of the rounded fenders and hood, at least for now. Of course, Ford would later bring this back into style with their step side bed, but, for now, Ford trucks would take on a look more akin to the boxy style that was prominent in the 1980s. This was done in an effort to maximize cargo space while streamlining the truck’s overall body styling. The hood was also widened, as well as flattened, lending itself to the overall boxy look.

57 Ford Truck Short Bed

Don’t get me wrong, 1957 Ford trucks are still incredible pieces of craftsmanship, they just got a pretty extensive makeover. This first ’57 Short Bed Ford resides in San Diego, California, and is nearly all original. The body was given a new paint job which was done in all flat colors and the bench seat has been reupholstered. The rest of the interior is original down to the old Ford AM radio! The rims and tires have been updated, and the engine was swapped in favor of a 351 cubic inch V8 with a two barrel carburetor for daily driving. It gets it’s Hot Rod sound from a dual exhaust system with glass packs.

1957 Ford F100

This second 1957 Ford truck for sale is another F100, this time out of Chandler, Arizona. The body is in pretty good shape considering the truck’s age, but it could still use some work, as could the interior. This truck has been modified to house a 350 cubic inch Chevy Small Block V8 engine and a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. Included with the upgraded engine are an Edelbrock performance air intake, four barrel carburetor, and performance cam shaft as well as a new four row radiator for better cooling. The transmission and cab have also been modified to make use of a floor shifter rather than the stock column shifter.

Jet Black 1957 Ford F100

This third and final 1957 Ford F100 looks amazing in it’s coat of jet black paint. It does have it’s downsides, though. The interior is in pretty bad shape due to a complete rewiring project that is still in progress and someone has swapped out the original bench seat for a couple of bucket seats and a console, or rather, cup and tool holder in between them. It is powered by a 302 cubic inch engine coupled to a C4 transmission. Although this truck does need quite a bit of TLC, it is still a great find and in the right hands it could be a really good show truck.

What is so great about the year 1956, you ask? Well, 1956 Ford Trucks, of course! I mean, really, is there any year of Ford trucks that was really bad? That is not to say that I have not seen my share of flopped and botched restoration efforts, but, when these trucks were new and just rolling off the Ford assembly lines, they were the cream of the crop of work trucks. Nowadays, these trucks are very rarely used for actual work. Most of them are show trucks and collector’s items of the wealthy. That does not mean you absolutely have to be filthy stinkin’ rich to own one, though.

Hip Chick with her 1956 Ford Truck

Okay, I’ll admit, for this first truck you will need either a pretty big budget or an affinity for women who look like post-operation…well, you get the picture. As far as this truck goes, there has been a great deal of money put into making it turn heads. I think you would be hard pressed to find an original part on this truck other than the body itself. This Hotrod was built by a garage in Pheonix, Arizona and is well worth the over $10,000 of the current bid on eBay.

56 Ford Truck Fixer Upper

This 1956 Ford truck for sale is, however, not worth the over seven thousand dollar bid currently in place for it. I will personally never understand the allure of the flat black paint jobs that look like someone bought a few cans of Krylon at their local Wal*Mart and let their five year old have at it. I think people could use a little bit more creativity. That’s just me, though, and maybe the flat black look is your thing. If it is, by all means, head on over to eBay and place your bids. The engine is a newly rebuilt 327 cubic inch with only two hundred miles on it. I suppose that could be it’s best selling point.

Restored Candy Apple Red 1956 Ford

This last 1956 Ford F100 is a much better exhibition of the skills of a talented restoration team. Seriously, someone in Morton, Illinois really knows what they are doing. The truck’s frame off restoration is newly completed this year, and the same can be said for the engine rebuild. It is powered by a six cylinder motor coupled to the original manual transmission. The rims, tires, and chrome all all new, and so is the interior and bed. The current bid on eBay for this truck is $8,000, or you can buy it outright for $26,000.
