Lifted Dodge Trucks

Lifted Dodge trucks aren’t as common as Fords and Chevys and maybe that’s why they appeal to me.  I still remember when they redesigned them in 1994.  I thought they were the most distinctive truck on the road at the time and public agreed, more than doubling their sales.  Before the redesign I can’t remember Dodge trucks ever being in the mix or even in commercials.  In fact, before 1994 I can only remember my grandpa’s 1983 ram.  Did they even jack up trucks back then?  If they didn’t they should have.  Well, without further ado, here is your first lifted dodge.

Once again we’ve started big at Jacked Up Lifted Trucks.  The dude in front of the truck really doesn’t know what to do with himself.  It’s like he just put his hands in his pockets and said, “Yep.”  And while I’m impressed with the sheer size of this lifted dodge ram I wouldn’t dig this paint job on any lifted dodge truck.  It’s a little too festive for me.  Makes it look too much like a show truck.  A truck that you know never really leaves the garage (if it fits in a garage) except to appear at a truck show.

Now this is more my style.  A truck that’s working it.  This lifted dodge was born for the mountains and the snow only makes it smile in anticipation of the fun it’s about to have.  This really is a great shot.  I live in the gently rolling hills but I’ve been heading up to the mountains at least once year since I was born.  Something about the mountains that makes you feel more alive.  It may be the crisp air, the scenery, or the knowledge that you are on top of the world but whatever it is, it doesn’t fit with a minivan.  And sadly, that’s what I was carted up there in for the first 18 years of my life.  Luckily my grandpa had his old dodge ram waiting for me when I got there.  We would wake up early in the morning, toss on bug spray and throw the fishing poles in the back and disappear in the woods for half a day hunting down trout.

Those are the kind of memories that stick with you for your entire life.  And although my grandpa’s ram wasn’t lifted I will always have a special place in my heart for these vehicles.
