1979 Ford Bronco for Sale

The 1979 Ford Bronco was the second year of the major redesign and enlarging of the Bronco.  It actually would have been introduced earlier but the fuel crisis in the 70s delayed production.  I don’t know if it’s sad or funny that as soon as the fuel crisis ended, larger vehicles with larger engines hit the road.  Having said that, the 1979 Bronco along with the 78 are my favorite years.  The forward overhang of the grill gives it an intimidating look that was slightly lost as the years went on.

If you are a fan of these vehicles as I am you will be happy to know that’s it not too late to own one.  In fact, many of them have been restored to excellent condition.  Of course you could always buy one in lesser condition and restore it yourself.  I struggle between the desire to own a restored one and the desire to own one that’s beat to hell so I can continue to beat it to hell.

The 79 Ford Bronco Ranger in this photo perfectly illustrates why I love these vehicles. With the lift and massive tires it looks like it could conquer the world. And I’ve mentioned on this site several times how much I love the look with the top removed. I prefer the top completely chopped because it looks the most adventurous and bad ass but this one is close enough.

Lakes take a closer look at the specs on this beauty. The engine is a 429 with 36,000 miles on it. The tires are 42 inch swampers and 9 inches of lift have been added. The truck has a few rust spots and a dent in the front end but for the most part it’s in great shape. Everything runs smooth so you don’t need to concern yourself with scouring the internet for 1979 Ford Bronco parts. There is nothing I hate more than trying to find parts.

I found this 1979 Ford Bronco for sale on Craigslist in Charlottesville, Virginia. I really enjoy the photo because it looks like the guy high centered it and then took the photo. Centering a truck on a mound of dirt is not a great representation of it’s capabilities but alas, it’s just the angle of the photo. At least….I assume so. Anyway, this 79 Bronco has a 6 inch suspension lift with a 4 inch body lift and 39 inch tires. That makes for one tall gas guzzling son of a gun.
