Today is the perfect temperature here in Kansas. 70 degrees, lightly overcast with a mild breeze. It’s the kind of temperature that makes me want to lay in bed all day with the windows open and pretend I live on an island. So I’ve done the next best thing. I went and found a 1985 Chevy Silverado for sale on an island. I also found an 85 Chevy Blazer K5 and a military truck, neither of which are located on an island but they will have to do.
This 85 Chevy Silverado recently sold on Camano Island, WA. Washington is a little farther north than the islands I had in mind. However, this is a sweet truck. It has 383 stroker engine with 450 HP, aluminum racing heads, full roller rockers, steel bilit crank, brand new 37 inch tires, 6 inch lift, flow master muffler, racing seats, and more. Since the listing has expired it’s hard to tell, but it looks like it sold for $5500 which is a good deal for everything that comes with truck.
Our next 1985 Chevy truck is also being sold in Washington and this one is a bit unconventional. The listing says it’s a Chevy military truck. I never knew there was such a thing. I’m assuming it was actually used in the National Guard or something and he’s not just calling it Military because it’s painted green and really big.
This truck is 1 ton with a 6.2 diesel engine. It’s equipped with 10″ superlift springs and 44 inch bogger tires. Naturally it’s also a 4×4. Would you expect less from the military?
Our 1985 Chevy Blazer K5 is located in Oklahoma. Another place I used to live that is not an island. The K5 Blazer was the full size SUV offered by Chevy to compete with the Ford Bronco. There was also a 1985 Chevy S10 Blazer that was mid sized and meant to compete with the Bronco ii but we like big stuff around here.
Anyway, this is the second one of our 1985 Chevy trucks for sale with a diesel engine. It’s a 6.2 diesel like the military truck posted above. Were diesels really popular in the 80s? I was three years old at the time so I wouldn’t know. Either way, this Blazer looks neat. With the lights and the rack on top you could take this out for some after dark deer hunting. Just hit the deer with the spot light and throw him on the rack when he’s ready to take home…..on second though, that is really illegal and cruel.
